Taipei 101(台北101)

Visiting Taipei 101 in Taiwan was the best thing ever. You get to see a clear 360 view of everything from up there, and I mean everything! High-powered binoculars, souvenir shops and drink bars are available for visitors so that they can have a memorable time there. Located in No. 45, Shifu Rd., Xinyi District, Taipei City, it opens daily from 9am-10pm. Moreover, there are Night Markets nearby for you to grab your dinner! (Check out my previous posts on Taiwan’s Night Markets for a review.)

View of the tower while heading there. That’s tall, isn’t it? In fact, its about 508 meters (1,671 feet) tall!

The first few floors in Taipei 101 consists of restaurants, a food court, library and a shopping mall (Taipei 101 Mall) that markets several designer goods. The lifts at Taipei 101 are the longest and fastest that goes at 1010m/ min which is 60.6km/ hr! So incredible.

What a beautiful view from the top of the tower. I could stare at this for hours and never get bored. If it’s your first time in Taiwan, it is mandatory have this iconic landmark marked on your to-do list!

A Place For Stress Relief

Universal Studios Singapore (新加坡环球影城) is a theme park located at 8 Sentosa Gateway within Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island, Singapore. Featuring 24 movie-themed rides and attractions, thrill seekers, friends and families will be the first to experience many new rides and shows based on your favourite blockbuster hits. I’ve been there twice and I the place is beyond believable! uss

There are seven categories to choose from. They are Hollywood, Far Far Away, Ancient Egypt, New York, Sci-Fi City, Lost World and Madagascar. These categories surely speak for themselves! These two are my favourites:

Revenge of the Mummy:

Located in Ancient Egypt, this ride is an indoor high speed roller coaster where we get to go through the ride in total darkness, except certain stops where they showcase scary sights, objects and special effects to scare the wits out of you. It also goes 360 degrees around at one point in time! Why not try this ride out yourself if you want to know more? 🙂

Transformers:

This is actually a 3D thrill ride on a makeshift car where riders are seen going through the storyline on the ride in the world of Transformers located in Sci-Fi City. In the process of this game, you get to conquer the world with Bumblebee, the transformer!

Not to worry if you are afraid of heights or speed. Wheelchair-friendly and slow rides are available for the elderly and disabled. Safety comes first and they will not admit your entry if you are unsuitable for the ride.

Opening hours are from 10am – 7pm everyday of the week. For ticket prices, do check out their website here: http://www.rwsentosa.com/Homepage/Attractions/UniversalStudiosSingapore. Remember to catch their Hollywood Dreams Parade where you can see your favourite characters come to life as Shrek, Marilyn Monroe or even the minions from Despicable Me. USS is especially packed during the weekends or public holidays so be prepared for the long queues and exciting rides ahead!
